JAMB Removes Five CBT Centres, Arrests 27 Impersonators, Addresses Hijab Restrictions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially removed five computer-based test (CBT) centres from the list of approved venues for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) due to failure to meet technical requirements. These centres, which were delisted on April 24, include Adventure Associate in Kano, Saadatu Rimi College of Education in Kano, two Penta M & F Technical Services centres in Tambuwal, and Soronara Ventures Nigeria Limited in Imo State.

In a statement, JAMB acknowledged the performance of 883 other centres that adhered to the required standards, but warned that any centre found lacking, regardless of ownership, would face blacklisting.

Candidates whose exams were originally scheduled at the affected centres have been urged to promptly reprint their examination slips to access updated information about their new centres and examination dates. JAMB has emphasized that no excuses will be tolerated for failing to reprint slips.

The board also reported the arrest of 27 impersonators, who have been handed over to the police for prosecution. Additionally, JAMB took swift action after reports emerged about unauthorized restrictions on candidates wearing hijabs.
