Mothering Sunday: CWO President, Prison Chaplaincy Lauds Ebonyi First Lady for supporting widows

The President of the Catholic Women Organization (CWO), Princess Chittachi Jerry Uslor, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the First Lady of Ebonyi State, Chief (Mrs.) Maudline Uzomaka Nwifuru, for her generous support of indigent Catholic widows in celebration of 2025 Mothering Sunday.

In a touching ceremony held at their church, the First Lady provided an array of food items and essentials to the widows, including rice, wrappers, and cash donations.

Princess Uslor highlighted Mrs. Nwifuru’s compassion and commitment to uplifting the vulnerable members of society during her remarks.

“I want to thank Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Maudline Uzomaka Nwifuru, for celebrating Mothering Sunday with us in our church. Her kindness exemplifies the spirit of generosity that Mothering Sunday celebrates,” Uslor stated.

The 2025 Mothering Sunday was themed “A Hopeful Woman Walks and Works,” attracting numerous dignitaries and local leaders who came together to honor the contributions of women in society and promote peace within communities.

In her address, Uslor urged women to be instruments of peace in their homes, emphasizing the critical role that mothers and women play in fostering harmony and unity within families and the broader society.

She praised the women of the Catholic Organization of St. Maximilian Kolbe Prison Chaplaincy for their commitment to community service and support for one another.

The event not only celebrated motherhood but also served as a reminder of the importance of solidarity and compassion in building a supportive community for all, especially for those in need. The CWO will continues to advocate for the rights and welfare of women in the society.
