Ecobank and AFC Drive Nigerian Art Forward with +234Arts Fair

Ecobank Nigeria Limited, in partnership with the African Finance Corporation (AFC) and Soto Gallery, has launched the +234Arts exhibition to elevate emerging Nigerian artists onto the global stage.

The international art fair, running from March 27th to March 31st, is being hosted at the Ecobank Pan African Centre (EPAC) in Lagos.

Ms. Omoboye Odu, Head of SME, Partnerships and Collaboration at Ecobank, stressed the importance of supporting Nigeria’s creative industry, a critical driver of economic growth and cultural connectivity. With the global art market valued at $62 billion, Ecobank aims to ensure that Nigerian artists, renowned across Africa, gain a competitive presence in this lucrative sector. The partnership includes master classes and capacity-building initiatives to empower unrepresented young artists and guide them towards achieving international recognition.

Tola Akerele, Founder of Soto Gallery and Curator of the +234 Art Fair, described the five-day event as a showcase of over 260 innovative and diverse works by emerging Nigerian artists. She stated that the fair underscores the need for greater patronage and visibility for local talents in the global art market.
