Ebonyi First Lady Wins Excellent Award

The First Lady of Ebonyi State, Mrs. Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru, was recently honored with an excellent award by the bankers committee for her outstanding support and contributions to the banking sector.

The award was presented to her during the prestigious 2024 Abakaliki Bankers Committee Dinner and Award Night held at Re-Meritona Hotel in Abakaliki, with the theme “Digital Trust in Banking: the Foundation of a Secure and Resilient Financial System”.

During her acceptance speech, Mrs. Nwifuru emphasized the significance of collaboration between the government and the banking industry in driving economic growth and development.

She commended the banking sector in Ebonyi State for its innovative approaches and dedication to serving the people, particularly in areas such as financial inclusion, economic empowerment, and the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises.

In his remarks, Mr. Daniel Ogbuogu, the branch controller of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Ebonyi, praised Mrs. Nwifuru for her significant and supportive contributions to the banking sector.

The event also featured a lecture on “Digital Trust in Banking” delivered by Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Ogbuogu, a renowned expert in the field. Dr. Ogbuogu emphasized the importance of prioritizing digital trust in banking operations and the essential role of digitalization in the current banking landscape.
