Delta State Government Begins Payment of 2023/2024 Bursary Award to 32,028 Students

The Delta State Government has officially announced the commencement of payments for the 2023/2024 Students Special Assistance Scheme (Bursary Award), aimed at supporting eligible students from Delta State enrolled in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Executive Secretary of the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, Dr. Godfrey Enita, confirmed that payments would begin on February 3, 2025. A total of 32,028 students are set to benefit from the scheme.

Dr. Enita expressed appreciation to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for approving the bursary, noting his commitment to prioritizing the welfare of Delta State students and the advancement of education.

He noted that the bursary is a part of the Governor’s M.O.R.E agenda, which focuses on enhancing the state’s educational development.

“This payment is specifically for students of Delta State origin who are enrolled in tertiary institutions across Nigeria and have completed the necessary registration and verification processes for the 2023/2024 Bursary Award,” Dr. Enita explained.

The Board further urged all eligible beneficiaries to take their studies seriously and represent the state as positive ambassadors in their various institutions.

Governor Oborevwori’s initiative is seen as a significant effort to promote the educational well-being of young Deltans, ensuring they have the necessary resources to succeed in their academic endeavors.
