Bauchi Works Commissioner Tours Ongoing Road Projects, Seeks More Support For Gov Bala

Bauchi State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Titus Ketkukah has during the weekend, began touring the ongoing road projects in the state with the 29 kilometers Boi, Gambar, Marti and Lere road as his first point of call.

The commissioner while addressing some residents of the benefitting communities, called on them to give more support to Governor Bala Mohammed, who he said is working tirelessly change Bauchi state for better.

While calling on the people of the state to fully support the administration of Bala Mohammed with prayers, the Commissioner enjoined them to fully give the site engineer maximum support towards timely completion of the project.

Prof Ketkukah who however observed that the sealant used in the expansion joints (particle board) are not durable enough, said where a road will be constructed along rich farm, top soil should be removed properly.

The Commissioner advised the project engineer to ensure timely completion of the construction work and expressed satisfaction with the progress of the work so far, suggesting that a progress chart be provided.

The Commissioner who also toured the already completed 11.2 kilometers Bogoro-Lusa-Mallar road as well as the 11.6 kilometers Boi, Tapshin road, thanked Governor Bala Mohammed for implementing projects and programmes that have direct positive bearing on the lives of the citizens.

Prof Ketkuka expressed his appreciation to the state governor, senator Bala Mohammed for approving the construction of the roads, which he noted will boost the economy of not only the benefitting communities but the state in general.

Speaking to newsmen on the progress so far, the principal resident engineer, Ado Shehu said the project has reached 25 percent completion.

The Engineer who noted that the Project was awarded 4 years ago and meant to be completed within the duration of 36 dry months, promised to do everything possible to finish the construction within the time frame.
