Governor Bago thumbs Up Medical Team Of IBB Specialist Hospital

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, has applauds the medical team of the IBB Specialist Hospital Minna, after conducting the first neurological and knee surgeries at the Hospital.
Governor Umaru Bago in a message hdescribes the development as a milestone achievement and a major breakthrough in his administration.
He restates that it is his administration’s desire to continue to revamp and improve the health sector to provide effective medical services of all kinds to the citizenry, and also end foreign medical trips.
The Governor commended the Management of the IBB Specialist Hospital Minna, under the leadership of the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Bala Waziri, for the significant milestone achieved and reassured that his administration will continue to provide all the necessary support that will take the Health Institution to greater heights.
Recall that an upgrade and expansion work is ongoing at the IBB Specialist Hospital in a bid to make it a State-of-the-art tertiary health facility and as a result, a theatre team led by Consultant Neurosurgeon, Dr. Uthman Uthman, successfully performed the first brain surgery in the Hospital on a 19-year-old male, who sustained severe brain injury and skull fracture, the patient is presently being nursed in the newly remodelled Amenity Wing of the hospital.
Similarly, a surgical team led by Orthopaedic Surgeons, Abdullahi Mohammad and Mustapha Ibrahim, conducted the first total knee replacement surgery at the IBB Specialist Hospital, on a 65-year-old woman with bilateral advanced osteoarthritis of the knee and the patient is presently on ambulation exercises at the VIP wing of the hospital.
