Promote FG’s Achievements Rather Than Disparaging Critics – Bauchi Govt To Presidency’s Media Team

Bauchi state government has tasked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s media team to pay priority attention to promoting the policies and achievements of their Principal, if any, rather than disparaging those offering constructive feedback.

This was contained in a press statement made available to newsmen in Bauchi on Sunday by the Special Adviser to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Mohammed Gidado.

Titled; “Sunday Dare’s Divisive and Unprofessional Rhetoric: Enough is Enough, Comrade Gidado, pointed out that democracy thrives on dialogue and not intimidation.

“It is time for the President’s media team to embrace this principle and recognize that dissent is not a threat, it is an opportunity to build a better, stronger Nigeria”, Governor Bala’s media Aide said.

Comrade Gidado who reiterated that Governor Bala Mohammed respects the Office of the President and the responsibilities it entails, however observed that respect does not preclude critique in a democracy.

The statement which said it was not the first time Mr. Dare has launched an unprovoked attack on Governor Bala Mohammed, reminded him that his role as a media adviser demands professionalism, diplomacy, and an unwavering commitment to uniting Nigerians behind the President’s vision.

Comrade Gidado who regretted that Mr. Dare has chosen to sow division and distract from critical national issues, advised that the Presidency’s media team should focus on highlighting the President’s accomplishments in critical areas such as security, the economy, infrastructure, and education, rather than engaging in needless squabbles.

According to Comrade Gidado, Governor Bala Mohammed has since inception in 2019 to-date delivered the dividends of democracy to the good people of the state in all sectors of the economy.

“These achievements include sustained economic transformation through massive investment in critical infrastructure such as roads, markets, and housing projects, which have significantly boosted commerce and created jobs thereby reducing youth restiveness and insecurity”, he said.

The media Aide further stated that the governor’s agricultural initiatives, anchored on the provision of subsidized inputs and promotion of modern farming techniques have empowered farmers and increased food production.

He said, in healthcare, the state has prioritized the rehabilitation of hospitals, construction of primary healthcare centres, and provision of free maternal and child healthcare services.

Comrade Gidado stressed that significant investments in education infrastructure, teacher training, targeted stakeholder engagement and general recalibration of the education environment are addressing the age-long out-of-school problem while creating the impetus for sustained improvement in performance.

The Special Adviser added that thousands of Youth and Women have been Empowered through various skills acquisition programs and grants to become self-reliant, contributing to the state’s socio-economic growth.
