HoR Impressed With 2024 Environment Ministry Budget’s Performance Reports

The Federal Ministry of Environment, led by Minister Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal, presented the 2024 Budget Performance Report and defended the 2025 budget at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, with high sense of acknowledgements and impression.
He said this presentation is a crucial step in ensuring the ministry’s environmental initiatives and projects are adequately funded, as the Minister has been instrumental in driving environmental policies and programs in Nigeria.
Mallam Balarabe Lawal said his leadership has focused on addressing key environmental challenges, including climate change, pollution, and conservation.
The ministry’s budget defense presentation highlighted its achievements in 2024, including efforts to promote sustainable development, protect natural resources, and address environmental degradation.
The presentation outlined the ministry’s plans and priorities for 2025, which may include initiatives such as Climate Change Mitigation and adaptation, efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote climate resilience and Environmental Conservation respectively.
It also highlighted Initiatives to protect and preserve Nigeria’s natural resources, including forests, waterways, and wildlife, as well as pollution control and waste management.
Also outlined include “programs to reduce pollution, promote sustainable waste management practices, and ensure environmental health and safety”.
“By presenting the 2024 budget performance report and defending the 2025 budget, the Federal Ministry of Environment demonstrates its commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective environmental governance”, it stated.
