United Make Fresh Osimhen Contact
Manchester United have made a fresh approach for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as they search for replacements for struggling forwards Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee.
Sources indicate that Osimhen has become a top target for new United manager Ruben Amorim, who excluded Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from his squad for Sunday’s Manchester derby.
The 25-year-old, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has been in impressive form in Turkey, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in 13 appearances across all competitions.
However, Juventus are leading the race for his signature as they look to replace Dusan Vlahovic, with reports suggesting Osimhen could prefer a move to Italy following his previous success there.
United also face competition from Arsenal, with former Gunners midfielder Emmanuel Petit urging them to make a January move for the Nigerian.
Osimhen’s situation is complicated by his €75m release clause, with Napoli director Giovanni Manna recently dismissing speculation about a January move.
Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the situation as Rashford emerges as a target for the French champions, while Chelsea are also in the race, with sources suggesting they could be a more attractive destination than United given their current trajectory.
Osimhen’s loan deal with Galatasaray includes a January break clause that could allow for a mid-season move, though his next destination remains uncertain amid interest from several European clubs.
