Ebonyi 1st lady compliments Tinubu’s wife efforts to reduce poverty, empowers 110 rural traders

The wife of Ebonyi State governor, Mrs Mary-Maudline Ogbonna Nwifuru has complemented the efforts of the wife of the President, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu to reduce poverty and sufferings amongst women and children in the state.

ABUJA POST reports that no fewer than
one hundred and ten, (110), rural traders in Ebonyi state, benefitted from the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), project of Wife of the President, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu in collaboration with Better Health for Rural Women, Children empowerment.

The state Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative and founder of Better Health for Rural Women Children and Internally displaced foundation, chief Mrs Mary-Maudline Ogbonna Nwifuru, distributed cheques of N50,000 each to the beneficiaries as well as bundles of wrappers, cartons of bags and educational materials for students.

Mrs Nwifuru, advised the beneficiaries selected from the 13 Local Government Areas of the state to reduce cost of their commodities in the market to make life bearable for people, thereby achieving the aim to boost businesses of rural women.

The wife of the governor also applauded efforts of her husband, Governor, Francis Nwifuru and the first lady, Mrs Tinubu for their deep commitments to equip women in the state, advance gender equality and make meaningful contribution to the society.

“Women traders contributes to economic growth. The programme is designed to equip them with tools and resources needed to strive, advance in business,”Nwifuru said.

In a swift reaction, the Commissioner for Education, Paul Nwobashi who received educational materials on behalf of students in the state, appreciated Mrs Nwifuru and promised to share the writing materials judiciously to students.

In a remark, one of the beneficiaries, Mrs Chioma Okenmiri who spoke on behalf of others, thanked the First lady, Mrs Tinubu and Mrs Nwifuru for giving women hope, especially during the economic hardship.
